As I've said before, I like Nathan Fillion. I think he's adorable and if I ever meet him, I'd probably have some good conversation.
That's why I've been laughing at Home on the Strange's recent plot line. I have wondered why every show he starts crashes within the first season or so. Firefly was awesome, Drive was interesting... I vaguely remember him appearing in Lost for an episode (I love watching a show and having a "star appearance"...). He was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (though I never watched the show, it was still a big hit). I think he was even the prick in the movie Blast From the Past (upon further curiosity, he was).
I remember the day my mother was watching Desperate Housewives with me actually in the vicinity and I saw him walk into a scene. I couldn't believe it! I mean, it's not enough to get me to watch the show (all I know at this point is that someone was faking a pregnancy, but I have no idea why), but I have to say that I'm glad he's got a part still. Hollywood knows they can't let that one go. Too cute and normal for the women not to drool over.
I've also seen the first four episodes of The Big Bang Theory, which has it's highs and lows. I found the first episode to be shaky, but enough laughs for me coming back. The second and third episodes were throughly enjoyable, especially when Sheldon started to explain to Penny why the scene the first Superman movie where Lois Lane is saved my Superman when she's falling from the helicopter is impossible due to the fact that she'd be going to fast for her to not be chopped into three bits by his "arms of steel." The fourth episode was kind of long.
Of course, I adore Johnny Galecki. I find him to look a little like Justin from Motion City Soundtrack, which is hot. It took me a while as to why I recognized him, and while going through is IMDB, I saw that he was in Suicide Kings, a movie I bought on DVD for two dollars at a used shop because it had Christopher Walken on the cover (yes, I sometimes judge that way... I've never seen one Christopher Walken film I haven't liked. He's got a good sense of humor!).
I then realized that he had been on Roseanne all those years ago. I knew I recognized him from somewhere!
And has anyone been watching Heroes recently?!! Freaking A, I can just see where this is heading. I hate when they start doing this crap... I liked it better when I could just watch the entire series without waiting for the next episode, just like Lost. This waiting game is ridonculous (and that word isn't written wrong... I actually say that word over five times a day).
And for the bad shows, never ever watch School Days, which I now dub to be the most disturbing freaking anime I've ever seen. Oh, it starts out fine enough. Just a harmless someone has a crush, another has a crush triangle love theme that quickly gets to a point of uncomfortable scenes in animation. Not being able to handle the soon Soap Opera plot line, I skipped ahead to the last episode, skimming the episode via clicks on the buffering line... I was truly disturbed. I caught a glance of my facial expression in the reflection of my computer at the end when it went black, and it looked scarred for life. A mixture of confusion, disgust and little wanting of barf. Plus a twinge of horror. I immediately deleted it from my computer (I'd yoinked it off a friend who has more anime than I can say) because I couldn't sleep knowing it was haunting my hard drive.
Never again. Never. Again.
As for the weather here at Palmy, it's been considerably rainy. Pouring for the past week and a half, and windy at that. I'm hoping it'll be done by the time school is officially out in the next few weeks. I want to leave with lots of traveling and wandering around the Lord of the Rings set.
I'm going home in a month.
Holy shit.

Sensing Murder
It's my new favorite Kiwi show. It's on Tuesdays at eight-thirty. Gina and I started watching it about a month ago and now we've got a following of five others.
It's pretty intense, though the murders tend to be over ten years old. Today, the murder happened over three decades ago.
Basically, since they could never find the murderer/s, they hire psychics to talk to the spirit to see if they can come up with anything new the police can go off of. The psychics can usually come up with a name, but they bleep it out and it turns out most of their information, though probably true, can't be used because there isn't any evidence.
My favorite psychic is Deb, who's in the middle, Kev is next, who's on the right, and I've misgivings about Sue, who, though is accurate, doesn't seem the type of person I'd totally believe in... Obviously, I've never met her, but I feel that Deb gets the answer more quickly.
As it is, I'm pretty stoked for next Tuesday. They're looking at a child case that was never solved, which means it could be more recent, which means they have a better chance of catching the culprit. In today's episode, Simon, the killed, told Deb that one of the killers had changed his ways, having a family with kids, though the other is still in trouble with the police. Intense, indeed.
I just saw this on the news. They said that there were pictures posted on the internet too gruesome to show on New Zealand television.
Then they proceeded to talk about how Britney Spears has to give up her babies to her ex-husband for driving without a license. It just leads me to believe that celebs believe they can get away with anything. Britney knows that there will be proof of her driving with her kids in the back because the paparazzi follows her everywhere.
Final and only opinion on the matter: You need help. And the only reason why it seems bad is because you're the face that everyone sees. There are people out there like you except they're different in one way... they're getting help. Take a pen from the jar and get better for the gods' sake! The fame isn't worth the tole it's taking on your body!
Anyways, I'm off to bed. I'm incredibly tired.
Random Fact: The first jigsaw puzzle was created by map maker John Splisbury who mounted one of his maps on a sheet of hardwood. He proceeded to cut around the borders of each country using a fine saw.

Dreams Come True?
Last year or so, there had been a form to sign up to be Ellen DeGeneres Show. My mother, a frequent watcher (meaning, whenever it's on, she's watching it), prodded me to sign up, but I ended up being too infatuated with work at school. I was "living the dream" with working at the KBSU station (which, by the way, has all new equipment thanks to a retiring man! I am more than so excited to start up our show again with new cameras, set and possibly people!) and a side job at Gamestop. I didn't particularly want to leave everything behind when I was just getting started in what I loved to do.
But now, being in New Zealand and figuring out the world, I have realized that I could really use what I have to make this world a better place now, not later. I'm not really sure what I'm waiting for when I not only want to do it now, but I know that I can do it. I'm only a backstage gal when necessary. And when it comes to making our world a better place, we have to do what we can at any time at any age.
So, I gave my information to Ellen DeGeneres:
I am a twenty-year-old woman who is on a mission to change the world. Living in a small town for most of my life, I have recently decided to take it upon myself to make things happen and am now in New Zealand for the next five months or so studying to be a professional writer and also adding on a Mass Communication major. A lover of music, television and books combined, I've become a DJ at the university I'm at in Palmerston North, taking time off from the assistant producer job at the television station I worked at through my other university in Minnesota (Bemidji State University) while aspiring to become the next J.K. Rowling with any spare time I find. I plan to use my Mass Communication major to show the world that there is something more than violence and war, because there is more negativity in the media than ways to help create a place better for everyone. One of those ways is music, the most mood setting because music is everywhere. I hope you consider me to be the next DJ if only because I know you're already in the race to make our world a better place!
Of course, everyone who knows me knows that I wanted to say more. But, I didn't want to come off as arrogant or talkative or give away my blog site because I'm sure everyone else would be doing the same. I'm hoping for an e-mail of some sort to say something to the effect of... I don't know what. Maybe at least to sign up next year.
In random news, I have come to the conclusion that the girls who are in my dorm watch really bad television/movies. At the moment, they're watching a film that has Paris Hilton and it's basically all about sex and girls being beautiful, not something I'd particularly want any child of mine watching if/when I ever get one. To be honest, I can't watch those kinds of movies anymore. Sex jokes lost their taste around the age of sixteen. I never found American Pie funny, which really put me outside of the crowd. I like creativity in a joke.
Usually, this is what separates me from "the guys," considering I tend to have more guy friends that girl friends. This is mostly due to the video gaming factor, but the other part is girls get catty. The things you see in the movies is, sadly enough, sometimes pretty close to how girls get. Ever seen Mean Girls? Story of many girls' lives.
In the best of news, my friend Ashley is doing pretty okay. I ended up staying up until midnight the night I wrote my other post (seven AM her time) so I could call her and see how things were. She's so much stronger than I am. I'm more than thankful to have her in my life.
I also got an e-mail back from my old adviser, Claudia, from PCAE. She was more than pleased to hear how I was doing, but I was more pleased to hear back. Perpich was where I started seeing the world (can you believe I thought racism was "over" until I went to the cities?). The people there helped me grow, allowing me to find myself and also want to explore more of the world. And here I am, in New Zealand.
I have many people in my life to thank now that I'm here.
So, I don't know if any of you read Candi Comics, but do any of you know what the hell will happen? I'm hoping for Linda to get what she deserves, though, personally, I don't think Alex and Candi will ever be more than friends. My guess is something to the effect of Candi finally getting over Alex, then Alex wanting to start the relationship up again, but they just find that they're over. I just have no clue what will become of Linda, though. What can happen to someone who practically breaks up a couple and then moves in on the boy?
In my last news, I'm not happy with my poetry assignment, in which we write about "loss." I decided to go with my Great-Grandmother Verna because I have luckily not been through that hardship yet and he doesn't think using pets is "emotional" enough because "they're just animals." I don't agree with that, but he's the teacher. And I already have a pretty good idea for what to use with Verna. Then, I have to whip up another poem that I know I'll regret ever allowing to hit the papers.
*sighs*
I'm supposed to be a writer. Why is poetry so hard, then?

Lightbulbs
I have just recently discovered that Photoshop is on the computers nearby my dorm.
Suddenly, everything has become twenty times more interesting.
In less interesting news, I'm excited to show Kiwis Motion City Soundtrack, Dane Cook and a little Brian Regan. I'm surprised that Dane Cook hasn't spread like wild fire over here, but, then again, they may not have the same humor perspective; they did have a comedy tour, though. Hm. Anyway, you need to buy his new DVD. He's a funny cat.
Otherwise, I'm addicted to Heroes.
It all started with their first episode, but I wasn't able to watch it because of work and school and then the lack of television by the end of the year. Now, though. I have seen episodes.
I'll say right here that there could be spoilers, considering there are a few things I want to get off my chest...
What in the hell is up with freaking Nathan?! I didn't like him from the beginning (Peter lover *raises hand*), and he's always trying to "protect" but really just comes off as a jerk, plus a greedy brut. He cheated on his wife, has an illegitamate child that he sends off, and crashes every dream anyone else has! He's only reliable with himself. UGH!
Favorite Character: Hiro. Who doesn't love this fantastic character? He's exactly how I'd be if I found I'd had powers. Loyal and completely a hero to the end. He's a little sweetie and never loses sight of the important. He's probably the only one who's not fucked up. Besides Claire. But she's sixteen. By default, she's fucked up.
As it is, I love the show if only because I want answers. That's how to get me hooked, people. Slighted information. That's why I like Lost. They just keep throwing things in until there's a point of one screaming, "Just tell me what the hell is going on!"
It's nice to watch a show without commercials.
Random Fact: More than ten people a year are killed by vending machines. (That's what the Transformer movie is about, I'll bet. Now I'm interested in watching it.)

End Of An Era 2
Edit /
I forgot to place this on my previous blog when I wrote about Harry Potter.
This was basically me waiting for the bus to get my book:

Down Feather
As I lay here, cuddling with my Geoffery (Teddy Bear... I'm still single, ya'll), I'm still on inner debates with myself. Constantly.
Am I doing it right? What is right? Is this the right time? How will I know? I'll be missing so much! But I'll be gaining so much! Passport? Earning money? Passport? What clothes to bring? Passport? Passport? Passport?
If you can't tell, my passport still hasn't arrived in the mail yet. I'm getting rather bothered by the fact (moreso at the fact that my mother is freaking out and we continually get into fights over the matter). You'd figure it'd all be an easy kill, considering it's been "in process" for over eleven weeks. "Technically," I still have another week to go. However, also "technically," I'm peeved that they've changed the time periods for it to come back to me twice now. They have a certain piece of paper that pretty much tells everyone that I am able to exist, in which I desperately need for the jobs I've "signed" up for.
Speaking of jobs, I decidedly have two. The first, Diary Queen, which is much cleaner and more fun to work at than I ever anticipated. Partly because of the people, partly because I'm surrounded by what I love most: ice cream (though, according to my new boss, this isn't ice cream... it's DQ. Literally, it's patent.)! It's difficult to not just take over the entire counter and create something of my own, like a science project, but I don't think any good could come of any of it (for them, anyway... I'd be profoundly happy!).
The second job is at the casino. I haven't started this yet because I have to go through orientation (in which they basically tell me I can't gamble, except for Bingo, which is all I play anyways, and that I'd just better stay in line).
The problem with these two jobs is the fact that I'll be gaining less sleep than when I was at school; graveyard shifts at the casino, hopefully more afternoon jobs at the DQ. This may give me just five hours a day to sleep, but I can't be too sure because I have to allow time for dressing and actually getting from point A to point B to point C and perhaps all the way from point A to point C, or the other way around.
I'm extremely thankful that, considering the outrageous gas prices, I won't have to be driving to the end of the universe to get where I need to go. Let's face it: I adore my Jeep, but it's kind of a snob, drinking it's gas like it's easily replenish-able.
In other news, I became an addict to The Hex, though I believe we "Americans" just call it Hex. We shorten it. We're lazy like that (or would it be WLLT?). I couldn't wait for this upcoming Saturday to see what happens and ended up watching the rest of the season through the internet. Rather disappointing ending, really. Very realistic in a sense, but, all the same, I kind of wonder if the whole thing was a flop, thus the killing off of so many people and the whole drawing certain things out. I will say one thing: the optimist I am, I really truly wanted to believe in Malachi, just as much as Ella did. It was rather saddening to see him so easily straying from what he originally cared for.
I have no clues if there is even going to be another season (I assume not, considering the cults that have arisen from this, and would be content with nothing else). It's amazing to see how characters have changed throughout the series, mainly because I see it in such a short period of time that it's hard to believe how quickly everything passes. I suppose this is with any television show.
Since actually sitting down to watch the Tele nowadays, I've discovered quite a few disturbing things.
Hoveround. What in the hell were they thinking while making this commercial? I can't stop laughing as they spin in circles... Given, it's thinking outside the box. Also given, it looks ridiculous and I begin to wonder if anyone looks at the commercials before allowing them on public television.
Year Round Tomatoes. The only reason I find this disturbing is because I wonder what the hell I'm eating if that tomato is going crazy all year round. I don't really trust it. Also, I find it slightly odd that they don't say how long the plants last. A few months? Forever? Ripoff.
Adopt Us Kids. Now, I'm all for adoption. But has anyone been watching these commercials? I'm so shocked, I almost forget that it's for a good cause! Can you tell when this one came out? I think it's just the line "There are plenty of others willing to put up with you" that got me. Mainly because I wasn't paying attention to the whole commercial (I had to rewind it to make sure I'd gotten it wrong), and I thought that it was for a trade-in, or a campaign for children who were sick of their parents (it was the one where the mom is accidentally listening in on a teenager's conversation through the phone).
And now, time for the lost movies!
Rookie of the Year. I am still amazed to this day to meet people who have not seen this movie, nay, film. Who can forget the awesometastic line repeated over and over as a child of "Funky Butt-lovin'!" Laughs galore! Or the sarcastic humor of, "Let's go back to our dull lives and search for meaning." This is high quality material. Given, the main character tends to do the whole gig of a child who's clumsy/inept(I vaguely remember A Kid in King Arthur's Court and A Kid in Aladdin's Palace... Connected, I have no clue, as to I'm most positive I never watched them more than once and that was over ten years ago), but this movie is a classic that still catches laughs from me. I still can't believe the part where Henry starts harassing the pitcher with "Pitcher's got a big butt" or "there's something comin' out of your nose!" draws more than a mere smile.
There's for the night, hoping that I'll get good sleep and wake up to a nice warm day, in which I can go swimming. Also, that there aren't half as many bugs... the mosquitoes are terrible at the moment!
Random Fact: More than 2,500 left handed people a year are killed from using products made for right handed people. I'm suddenly extremely glad not to be in on the minority for this one.
Am I doing it right? What is right? Is this the right time? How will I know? I'll be missing so much! But I'll be gaining so much! Passport? Earning money? Passport? What clothes to bring? Passport? Passport? Passport?

Holy Island-Smacking Saving Batman!
Okay. I mean, wow. And when I say that 'wow,' I mean wow.
I will say this right now: I am a Lost addict.
I remember when it first came out, but I couldn't watch it because I worked all the time and, since I was in the dorms in college, I couldn't really tape it and no one else seemed particularly caring for it.
Thank the lords for a great friend at work.
It all started with a casual, "Hey, I really wanted to watch this! The first season is out, and I've got a free rent... Wanna get the first disc?"
The rest is history, as I was sucked into the world, immediately switching DVDs when I was finished to the second disc. When I thought I'd die from having to pay for the whole season, Mo from work mentioned he had the first and second season. My crack was already bought and paid for--now, all that was needed was time.
It's a sad story to say that, during my breaks for Winter and Spring was filled with me sitting in front of a screen, drinking in all of the information spewed at me; I couldn't help it. So much was happening, so many lies, so many truths, no way to keep them all straight and, to top things off, no one to really talk to about it. I thankfully got my brother addicted, and my mother started to keep track as well.
Tonight was the night we all watched the finale. Jesus. No, for cereal, Jesus. What a doozy. Since I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, I'll improvise with my own dubs in place of important spoilers.
Okay, can you believe that they HAD GIANT UNICORNS WHOM THREW CONFETTI AT MIDNIGHT FOR NEW YEARS? And how about the fact that LARGE DOGS THAT WEAR BOOTIES AREN'T THE NEW PARIS HILTON? After his fist collided with JUPITER'S MOON, GANYMEDE, I was cheering until I realized FORK PLUS SPOON EQUALS SPORK, BUT THE CUPS OF SUGAR TO THE MOON REMAINS ANONYMOUS.
I think that's my favorite thing about the show. I can't tell what's going to happen anymore, not really. In all reality, I don't know what to believe, who to believe and where any truth is... but I like it. I have come the conclusion, though, that Bernard and Rose are probably the only characters so far that have a pretty clean record. Obviously, it's always subject to change, they are truly good (except for when GOOGLY EYES GET STUCK AT MIDNIGHT WITHOUT CEREAL TO PASTE IT).
It's been difficult, though. Now that I'm used to it, I just can't go back to commercial watching. I despise the process: five minutes of show, ten minutes of advertising I could care less about. I have yet to think of one commercial at this time that I thought, "Well, gee, golly, gosh! That's exactly what I need! Now!"
Except for those infomercials. Have you seen the one for that Magic Bullet yet? For cereal. That's the bomb.
As it is, I have a heartache the size of Alaska (that's larger than Texas!) as I know that I'm going to have to wait until next January until I see what the hell happens next. I mean, for cereal, if any of you saw the ending, you know what I'm speaking of. Where in the hell are they going to go from here? Given, I guessed some of the plot lines (Zach can vouch for my plot-reading skillz with a 'z'), but that doesn't mean it makes it all better; it just means that I was able to confuse myself further as Ben EATS POPSICLES ON FROZEN PENS but what else does Jacob CRAVE WHEN A RACCOON PULLS A MINNOWS' SCALE?
I almost wish I'd waited until the whole thing was over so I could wait for the DVDs. Almost.
I will say that it was a two hour bloodbath. A very satisfying bloodbath (in the sense of people getting what they finally deserve). What happened made me finally go, "THANK YOU!!!!"
Oh, and I advise not looking up Lost in wikipedia. It has spoilers up the yin-yang, even for looking up to see the characters. Just pay for the crack and insert via player. Watch for several hours. Repeat.
Random Fact: Not even the members of the Lost cast know what's going to happen until they get the script for that day. What craziness they must be going through as well!

Here Ticky-Ticky-Ticky-Tick
Ever since I volunteered at the Humane Society in town, I've found four ticks. One while I was there, two when I got home immediately and I just found one on my computer screen. He must have been starving, considering I'd volunteered on Thursday, and he was rather weak. I didn't feel sorry for him, however. The third tick I'd found was on my butt, already sticking it's head in. As much as people are supposed to love "all of gods creatures," I find it hard to accomadate some of them. Especially the ones who want to suck my blood and they aren't vampires.
I'm watching this movie that is called "Santa Claus" on our university's channel. We have some interesting things that play (I helped pick out an entire hour of Queen music videos! Woot!), but this one seems just... very old. If only because of the content. Besides the fact that it's about Martians trying to kidnap Santa Claus, they mention the Soviet Union and have Mrs. Claus in a typical "womanly fret." I think my favorite part so far is when the Martians decide to consult two children about the whereabouts of Santa Claus. They shove an automatic in their faces, then say "Don't be afraid. There's no reason to be alarmed."
Yeah. Don't worry, children. This large gun won't make your head explode in the least.
Oh, god. Now there's a man in a large costume, a supposedly real Polar Bear.
Why am I watching this?!
I saw 28 Weeks Later. It was a very quick movie. I found myself wondering why it ended, and that it had just gotten to the good part. This may have been because there's a lot more in 28 Days Later. It's slower paced, and a lot more conflict inner-wise. This one has a lot more action, and much more heart-wrenching scenes that just remind me of almost a real-life event. Because, in all reality, if there were a Rage Virus going around ("the infection"), and it got loose, indeed, it makes sense to not take a chance, but kill everyone. And I think that's what got me.
If "the infection" ever came true, I'd pretty much be fucked. That Rage Virus has got them running so fast I'd be the first one dead. Even if my life depended on it, running has never been my forte. I'm better off coming up with an elaborate plan for hiding and waiting for the whole event to be over. And after I'm saved, never going back. Hell, why not just escape into space?
Again, I have a wistful wish of it not being so short. It ended rather lamely in a sense, and though I can't tell if they set it up for another one or if they were just being funny, I just wanted more. Plain and simple. They kind of left it wide open. I was okay with parts being obvious. Just don't think you can get away with being "smart." Also, why'd you have to kill off the nice, cute military man? I didn't even get a secret ending. Pooey.
As it is, I'm sure I'll end up seeing it again. The music is amazing to me, and I'm on the hopes that there's a soundtrack. I'm also tracking down Hot Fuzz.
Apparently, I'm in the British Filming State Of Mind. All I need is Trigger Happy TV and some Monty Python.

Round Wheels
I get car sick. Not a lot of people know this. Most likely because I don't like thinking about how I feel when I think that I'm going to puke if I don't roll down my window to get that fresh air. I get that head-ache that gets worse when I smell the oldness of a car, in which junk has been placed and not removed for over three years.
Interestingly enough, I don't get car sick in my own car or an immediate family car. And I usually get car sick when I'm sitting in the back. To cure, I roll down my window and have the air walloping my face, no matter how cold, and close my eyes. If I close my eyes with no wind, I get sicker. If I have the wind and don't close my eyes, my head becomes even dizzier as I watch the trees and other cars pass me by even quicker than before.
Today, I think the taste of a good Dairy Queen cherry-dipped cone with crunch brought back those old memories, and confused my mind as I got into the passenger seat in the front while my new room mate drove us back home. I can officially say that I haven't had Dairy Queen for quite some time, and to have the smooth ice cream was a pleasant reminder of how summer tastes and feels. I was particularly surprised and happy to see that they not only do a cherry-dip on the cone, but also the crunch, because many DQ's don't do the whole "cherry-dip crunch" anymore. I was satisfied and able to put away my worries for those few minutes of jibber-jabbering about certain folks, a pastime I've tried to give up, but for some reason can't seem to find anything else more interesting than what I believe to be stupid.
For this portion of my blog, I've decided to finally put in a matter I haven't really spoken of. Though some may find this to be an old subject, now that I feel numb to the subject myself, I think I can write this without feeling intense sickness/mournfulness.
I am extremely opposed to everything that happened with the Virginia Tech students. I'm obviously opposed to mass killings of any kind, and even to the any kinds of killings, but the way the whole situation was handled--I can officially say I was sick to my stomach, and I still get nauseous when I think too much on the subject.
I'm opposed to the fact that they put on the murderer's videos/clips and showed the world a face twisted with such rage and hatred.
I'm opposed to how they fully did what that man wanted: showing the videos.
I'm opposed to ever allowing my child watch the news again because of this.
This is coming from a person who watches more movies than the average gal. Coming from a gal who watches almost N/R movies and says, "That wasn't very violent." A twenty-year-old who thinks playing God of War II should be on the Wii because no one gets the "full experience otherwise."
This could be because I can tell the difference between what's real and what's not--and video games/movies are placed easily in my head as the latter. But I can truthfully say I have never seen a more crazy look before in my life. I literally felt sick, and being surrounded by televisions playing the same thing over and over and over, the same wave of disgust pounding against me, of contempt someone had for another so much that they had to die...
I'm going into the Mass Communication department. I was almost ashamed and didn't want to involve myself if these were the kind of decisions these people made every day. But all that means is that I just learn more and make something better. Much better.

Trigger Happy
As in TV. Not like me shooting everyone. That's just crazy.
I wear crosses. But I'm not sure why. I mean, I know why. The one around my neck belonged to my mother at her age, so I wear it to remind me that she's here for me. I wear those cross earrings because they were once my aunt's. But I'm not exactly religious (if anything, more spiritual). I don't go to church. I'm not even sure if I can say that "Jesus Christ saves my soul."
In fact, if someone demanded me to make a decision on a religion right now, based on what I know, I'd just become a Jedi. Not only would it be cool, but they seem to have some fancy benefits I could enjoy. And maybe if I believe enough, I could actually use the force. For cereal.
But this doesn't override the fact that I wear a cross for no other reason than for sentimental value towards anything but Jesus. I mean, in all reality, didn't god tell us not to make idols and worship them? Of course, as I said, I don't go to church and haven't exactly gone towards methods to fully inform myself so I know everything I should know before forming a solid opinion.
But I wonder if I could ever get up that final courage to make a decision. It's a lot of commitment to come out and say it. It's kind of like declaring what political stance you hold. By saying you're a democrat or republican or anything, you automatically are placed with what they believe unless you specify otherwise, which takes a lot of time and effort. To say I'm Christian, I'd have to explain a lot about what I do and don't agree with. To say I'm Jewish, I'd have to explain a lot about waht I do and don't agree with. To say I'm Buddhist, I'd have... Well, actually, I agree with a lot they have to say.
I guess I just seem to have a different meaning than what most would have. If I took the meaning for what it is, I'd dread to wear a cross because I'd always be thinking of a man who's better than me, who sacrificed himself in the most bloodiest of ways so I could live this boring, uninteresting life. It wouldn't be a favorite piece of jewlery for every-day-wear anymore.
If anything, I do have high respect for the man. When really thought about, whether he is the son of God or not, to have so much faith in something, know that one is going to die and going forth with it anyway, I have a very high respect for him. Because I'm not sure I could do it. But to die for one's beliefs, whether we believe them or not... at least they were loyal, a rare quality of today's time. He was ready to die and go through that much pain because he knew it would be the better for us all. And whether or not that is true, he stuck with it.
In the end, I'm sure I'll have some epiphany of where I truly am to be. I'm not sure how long it'll take, but it'll be an interesting moment in the history of Mallory.
In other news, Malloryland will soon declare war upon another millimeter of America.

HMPDYO?
That stands for: How Many People Do You Owe? I shortened it.
So. My Jeep has a new battery in it. Long story short, Shawn is one of the nicest guys ever and my parents rock further than they ever have. This whole weekend ended up being completely different than I imagined, and it would have been a living hell had they not been involved.
I also have yet to find more reasons as to why being poor is better than being rich.
Having no internet still sucks, but we found out that we still have television for free, which is probably because we have to give the main box back to the company.
Wolf's Rain is even better than I imagined. I knew that it would at least get to my expectations, but it went way over. It not only makes me miss my puppies at home, but it definitely hits the nerve of being against animal cruelty, and that I'd never be able to do more than firmly tap my finger on my dog's nose to say "no". I actually cried at some of the parts. Of course, that's also due to the fact that I'm a freaking dolt when I become attached to characters. I suggest never watching films that have some sort of touching basis with me (especially if it's really cheesy and you like them like that... because I'll just end up making fun of it the entire time).
Things To Not Watch With Mallory:
Fruits Basket
Wolf's Rain
Pursuit of Happyness
Cowboy Bebop
Anything Miyazaki
Field of Dreams
In The Mood For Love
Just so you all know, I will defend to my own death that Spike is not dead. He's just resting his eyes... and will go home and complain about a bad mushroom meal from Jet. For cereal.
I only have one complaint about watching a television series. Flashbacks. I think this is mainly due to the fact that I tend to watch things when they come out on DVD, so, really, flashbacks are just useless because I just watched it. Of course, I have to say that anime does this way too often. More in a sense that, halfway through, I believe there had been a few months inbetween the actual showings in Japan, so they're giving an update to what may have been forgotten. Still. They'll do just about two-four episodes of showing just old footage from the previous episodes, and maybe throw in the voice of one of the characters talking about what they've "learned" or how they "can't believe that it all led to here". When watching the DVD version, I want to skip over it, but then I don't, just in hopes that there will be something there I've never seen before. I probably gain about... ten seconds of new footage that really doesn't matter.
Oh, and another complaint is commercials. I love just watching the DVD, if only because that means I don't have to suffer through bad jokes, acting or a new pill that will help people have sex (whether it be some sort of male enhancement or because they have an incurable disease).
I'm tired. And my laundry is done. Having clean clothes is so nice.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal is great for when you just need a laugh. Updated daily. I love the anythings that make that happen.

Colds Are For Wimps And Communists
It was really weird to get home last night and find that I not only didn't have any television, but no internet either. I made dinner and thought "I'll just watch Mythbusters--oh, right. Well, maybe if I check youtube--oh, right." I actually and to comtemplate what else there was to do. I wasn't in the mood to sit down a read while I ate (a normal breakfast activity) and I wasn't in the mood to play video games because that meant I'd be taking breaks between to eat. I keep my focus while playing.
I ended up going through my DVD selection and finally just grabbing my Freakin' Sweet Collection of Family Guy, though I'd seen the episodes a bajillion times. It was interesting to see the animation of those days. I really believe they've cleaned up their lines and style (animation, meaning. If anything, they're more outrageous than ever script wise).
I just couldn't believe that I couldn't come up with what to do for the rest of my day. I'd made a list of things to do, all for the internet (mostly for this class, Weblogs & Wikis). I also planned on seriously looking at Austra Learn for my way of getting to New Zealand. I had to switch all my plans around.
Except that I didn't mind in the least. I went through the mess I call a room and reorganized it to it's normal standards. Over the week, I'd let it get out of the norm, but I'd had enough. Just when I was wanting to vaccum, I saw that Anna had taken the device back to her parentals house. I cringed at knowing I'd never want to sit on my floor, but at least everything was where it was supposed to be, along with some new ideas for where I wanted to have my school items.
The real question is, will I really miss watching television? Probably. I liked sitting down for an hour to watch Mythbusters, then realize that, yes, they're having a marathon for the next five. I liked checking out TBS & AMV movies. I'm particularly going to miss walking in to see Anna watching her VH1 shows of people freaking out on some dating show between a girlfriend who has to watch her boyfriend go out with someone else or being under some lie detector on the first date. I'll also miss the discovery channel.
As for internet, it's just going to be a hassle. I tend to get home late, and that's when I go for my internet. Even in the morning, I turn on my Wii to check out what the weather is supposed to be like, then read the news articles on the News Channel while eating some toast with peanut butter. I send random pictures from it to friends, messages...
I know I can live without them (I'm not going to get it through Charter or anything, just suck it up). If anything, I'll be able to focus on more important things, use my imagination more, like I'm made for, and catch up on writing letters back to folks I've received letters from. Correspondence is important, too. I'll even be able to do my internet homework from another location, a whole different experience (especially when you think someone is reading over your shoulder... bastards).
I don't think we're ever going to find that third roommate. Between us being two college chicks and there only being four months of the lease left (then we're bookin' it), it'll most likely be just Anna and I. Not that I mind. Cleaning up after both of us is enough work as it is. If another was added to the matter, I'd make it a requirement for some obsessive compulsive cleaner.
Orie lent me the first three discs of Wolf's Rain, an anime I've been wanting to watch for a good two years now. Sure, I like Cartoon Network, but they tend to get some really sucky shows in to surround the good ones, which they place at inconvenient times then chuck them for something else I'm not interested in. I'm pretty stoked to see what it's really all about. The episode I saw, I have no clue if it was the end or the beginning. Could have worked for either, really. However, now I'll know whether or not I really want to buy it. I tend to just buy anime's on a whim, just like I do random CDs of new artists. Cheap and could be something I enjoy enough (for cheap anime, check out Sun Devil DVDs. Whole seasons ranging from 15-30 bucks! Movies even cheaper! Just don't go to the Hentai section... Believe me when I say this. Seriously.).
I guess this means I'll go from my routine reading Hot Gimmick for the umpteenth time and watching cute wolves roam around as humans.
Best Animals Ever:
Wolves
Moose
Cats
I actually like any animals. Giraffes are pretty fantastic, and hyenas are really unique! I suppose I just tend to think of those animals most.
